Have you noticed the latest sneaky little advertising trick on MyLot?

I was wondering if others had been victimized by the sneaky little ad trick that is present on MyLot. You read someone's post, drop down to make a comment, and just as you hit enter in the comment bar, an ad quickly darts in--I think it's from the left--and gathers up your enter, taking you somewhere you don't want to go. I don't know if it's tied in with any particular ad, as I quickly x out of it, but it's a minor pain in the neck. It reminds me of a spider who lies in wait until something lands in her web. Then she quickly darts out to wrap her prey up and suck his guts out. I still have my guts, but I'll attach a picture of a common garden spider that I took near our garden in Oakland a few years go. They look gnarly but are completely harmless to humans.

Once that advert bursts into the scene it also follows the page as you scroll up and down. These 8 legged adverts can be a real pain.

I've had those too. They come from all places. There are spiders hiding in the woodwork everywhere!

@TheHorse Maybe we should install a frog to keep them under control.

I have had it happen a couple of times but not often enough to irritate me as of yet. I think it is just the times we live in. Good analogy by the way.

Thanks. I bet they calculate the number of times to "use" it. If it happened every time, we'd all be complaining.

She came to see me the other night. (Actually, I was able to predict when shed come out, based on the setting sun.) How can you forsake someone who is so true?

It actually hasn't happened to me since I wrote the post! Maybe my post served as an exorcism.

Between that and the "long running script" that freezes my screen for minutes at a time, it is getting to be a pain.

I don't know where those "unresponsive script"s come from. I generally just do a warm reboot.

I think so. They are big and scary and weave beautiful webs, unlike my girlfriend, whose web is messy.

I noticed it once and then turned AdBlock on. I am tired of all the ways they try to take us elsewhere on myLot. I get tired of that crap really quick!

This is why I have adblock on. But if you don't want to install one on yours, I have a trick for you. Pressing ctrl+w quickly closes the tab that is opened. Try it out on a new tab or on other browsers/programs that uses tabs, it works on most programs.
