Few Months ago, I made a discussion about how disturbing it is that Teens and young adults won't listen to old songs unless it's covered but recently there are some changes. The Deadpool movie used The song "Angel of the Morning" of Juice Newton and the sales of that song from Itunes and it's views on Youtube Multiplied because of the people who saw the film. X-men Days of the future past used the song " time in a bottle" on the slow motion scene were Quicksilver dodges bullets. This 1971 hit song got some popularity again from the fans of the movie. Recently the 1963 song "You don't own me" had multiplied by views after the showing of the movie Suicide Squad. The movie used the song to portray Joker's relationship with his Girlfriend Harley Quinn. The trailers used a cover version but the movie used the original version and the original version got many teens and young adults to be curious enough to watch it on Youtube. I also saw some teenage girls covering the song after Suicide Squad. I think more movies should use old songs without covering them to introduce them to a younger generation.

Like what Guardians of the Galaxy did, too. What's cool is that the main character's playlist in his Walkman, which were all 80s songs, became available as a soundtrack.

Oh Yeah that movies used a lot of 80's song and the Starlord plays music with a cassette tape. Yeah I saw a lot of teens commenting in 80's song because of that movie.

@CaptAlbertWhisker That actually made me smile. I grew up in the 80s and heard those songs on the radio when they came out. Hearing them on that movie made me nostalgic a bit. Time in a Bottle was great. Actually, all of Jim Croce's songs are great, if you're the kind who loves sad love songs.

@moonchild117 Jim Croce is like Coldplay of the 70's. I know he dont sound like Chris Martin but both got famous for slow relaxing songs. The Anime Jojo's Bizaare adventure also made a use of all old songs. It's first 2 seasons used "Roundabout" by yes in it's first 2 seasons while It used Walk Like an Egyptian on it's 3rd season. It's latest season used "I want you" by Savage Garden.

and they dont need to be covered by a new singer to introduce them to a younger generation. I heard Unchained melody charted again thanks to Ghost. Now Superhero movies are using older songs a favor.
