Fall for gold

Fall for gold I have been so glued to the Olympics over this last week, it’s been amazing so far. Tonight it was the turn of the 10,000 metres and the great Mo Farrell running for Team GB. 25 laps of the track, know which I know how hard that can be. The race started well for Mo until he fell, however, he wasn’t down long before he was back up and running. It wasn’t until about 4 laps to go before things heated up and the race was on. It wasn’t until the home straight where he hit the front and winning the 10,000 meters in just a little over 27 minutes, a full 6 minutes faster than I ever have run the distance. Will he make it the double again and retain the Gold in the 5,000 metres, I guess we will soon find out. Did you see any of the 10,000 metres race tonight? Have you ever ran a 10,000-metre race before?

No to both of your questions. I haven't gotten to watch any of the Olympics yet.

There was so much to watch today, just could tear myself away from it, maybe you'll get the chance to see some of it yet.

I ran a ten k while I was in college. It was a road course and had been set up as the final exam for our jogging and conditioning class. To say I ran the whole thing was being a bit generous. After the first six and a half k my legs went a little wonky and I walked until I felt I could go again. I was beat. Coach was impressed with my effort. This was the Los Angeles area and I have minor asthma. For me just finishing was quite a feat.

I've done both, road and track with about the same time, not much in it really, did prefer the road to track, did find the track much harder. Well done on finishing.

@kevin1877uk Thank you. I was the only person in our tiny four person class to actually finish.

The US are on top of the medal table thanks to the swimmers, the UK are third and there aren't that many people in the UK

Yes he did, that's amazing indeed to do that and recover and still take the gold.

Unfortunately missed it and im sure dissapointed, glad he could get up after the fall and still won,for athletes at over 30,you dont know how long he can go on. I think he have a good chance at the 5,000M, he is very strong.
