Time to dig out a photo of our Sonny James esquire. The silly guy. I never thought I'd share life with another black cat- last one before he arrived- was a cat I had when I was a teen on a farm. He's looking out the front window. I love his fluffy tail.

@rebelann I rather want a cat again, hubby does not, and this area isnt safe for cats (and it's hard to force a cat to be inside only), so maybe someday

All mine are indoors @Jessicalynnt it's not safe for the birds or lizards for them to be allowed to roam and then there are those people who like to harm cats.

This is my little cat Mephistopheles ('Misty' for short!). This was his first time out and he is looking a little uncertain about that green shaggy carpet thing ... is it safe to walk on?

Pretty! I love black cats, I think they're just beautiful and I have had a few over the years. One fluffy one and two sleek ones, one was actually black and white.

@sallypup But right now I have two parakeets and a cockatiel, so it's a no on the cats for now. I will probably have a kitty again some day in the future.

I love black cats! I've lived with two of them in my life and both of them were harbingers of wonderful things to come. I get excited every time I see a black cat.

@sallypup - Do we really pick our cats? Almost all the cats I've lived with picked me. It's like I've been wearing a sign that said, "I'll love you."

@MKAlubs When my daughter was young a person left a guinea pig in a cage by our car. We called that a "drive by piggin." You're right. Animals seem to know who is who on the block.

@MKAlubs I'm glad to oblige. We were not looking for a black cat about five years ago. He was looking for us, I guess, or any warm, dry place possible. (It was a very cold, snowy January and he was a kit seeking shelter.)

My first kitty, Prissy, was also black unless the sun shone on her just right then she was a dark auburn.

@OreoBrownie Thanks for the belly laugh. Sonny James was a heart throb singer in the 50s. Look him up on youtube. "Young love" is one romantic song that sets the heart to galloping.
