How do you peel the fresh pineapple?

I'm always rushing. I love fresh pineapples but I can't be bothered peeling it for hours, removing the skin and the "eyes" painstakingly. So, I just give it a good wash, slice the top and bottom off, then cut it into wedges with the skin on. I rub salt on the wedges before rinsing it in water. Apparently this removes the itchiness caused by the fibres of the "eyes". It's easier to handle, when cut in a wedge, no need for a fork or a toothpick. Must make sure you don't eat the skin, it's not advisable lol. How do you peel your pineapples?

My wife usually peels them thick. I know it wastes some but it is less work.

Sad. did you develop an allergy? the skin makes my skin itch sometimes. the salt apparently makes it less itchy on our skin.

Well, I let Dole do it for me. I don't eat fresh. If I did, I would buy it pre-peeled.

@vickyrose I avoid cans if possible. I prefer things in glass.

Yes, the canned pineapples are sometimes cheaper than the fresh ones. Very convenient.

I usually prefer juice.. so just cut it into pieces instead of peeling.

I have seen my mom's friend done, but It still wasn't enough for me to be sure if I can do it myself.

Just let them do it, it's very cumbersome to do actually.

I peel the "eyes" first in a line, not plucking them out. Since, they are in lines it saves time and takes less effort to do this way.

I consider my self patient in peeling pineapples because I want them to be peeled off totally before I eat it. I even get rid of the middle part.
