RIP Willy Wonka

Gene Wilder apparently has died. He was such a fun actor. When I picture Willy Wonka I picture him and his slightly odd gaze. He was a character. I know he was in other things, (Young Frankenstein was...hilarious and bad all at the same time. What do you remember him in?

Oh no! I hadn't heard this news yet - so what a shock. Yep, I remember him fondly as Willy Wonka too - but I do remember Young Frankenstein as well.

Woman in Red. But he was funny in everything. Oh, Blazing Saddles is a standout, too.

I loved him in The Woman in Red but like you, when I think of Gene Wilder, I think of Willy Wonka. He really brought the character to life.

I did not know that. :( To me he will always be Willy Wonka. I know they made a new version with Johnny Depp, but I never saw it. Didn't seem right.

I saw the new version, but I preferred Gene Wilder's interpretation of the character.

I remember being into Mel Brooks movies at a young age. I felt a little ill to hear that Gene Wilder passed this morning because I had seen a lot of his movies, especially his collaborations with Mel Brooks.

My favorite Gene Wilder movie would have to be Young Frankenstein. He was hilarious in it and the movie is one of my all time favorites.

So sad to hear the news. I don't think I saw a lot of his movies but I enjoyed those I did see. I guess I'll always remember him best as Willy Wonka.

I heard about his passing on the news just now. His Willy Wonka was great. Blazing Saddles. All of his movies with RIchard Pryor. I hadn't realized he'd been suffering from Alzheimers.

I don't know that I saw him in too many things but I do remember his eyes. I had no idea he was in his eighties.
