What will $5 buy you?

I might be able to get coffee and cake and have change left in the garden centre. $5 is currently £3.80 in English money. I could buy a notebook. Coffee that is more expensive than my usual brand. Wierdly, I could and maybe will but a bag of compost, a couple of flower pots and some picnic wine goblets in blue and yellow from the £1 shop, but I will need to add 20p. I could buy 6 litres of milk in the village supermarket for 3.45 and bank the rest. What will it buy in your currency?

I don´t know how much is the currency of dollar in Philippines peso. Maybe I would be able to buy a sack of rice for that but I don´t spend my online earning here. It will stay in Paypal until I need it.

We have stores called the 99 Cent Store and Dollar Tree where $5 can buy 5 food items or stationary and all sorts of products. Even books and DVDs.

Obviously we are using the same currency, but to me it would represent 2 cups of coffee to take away from Greggs. A friend of mine sells newspapers in the city centre, so I often buy 2 coffees and have a chat with him.

I like Greggs. They do an amazing donut that thankfully sells out quickly or I could eat several.

Two gallons of gas, fast food sandwich meal, a gallon of milk with change left over, but not enough for two gallons, a pound of fresh fruit or vegetables.

I think petrol here comes in at £1.11 just now so gas or as we say, petrol is a good option. I could buy Subway but only the cheapest from Mcdonalds.

It probably would biy me a remaindered book with a bit left over in a discount store. If it was £5 and not $5 I could get three for that.

IF it's converted to pesos? yeah, a lot at least a week if your not buying too much food, 5$ is actually enough for a week if your wise. I was able to survive 1$ a day once.

This is an incredible contrast. I can see why certain countries can really benefit from places like MyLot.

If u convert $5 to INR than it almost 330 INR it means u could buy a Data pack of 4G one month plan, or TV reacherge of one month include all channels, or may be a full bag of cement, or samsung SD card... :)

In Indian currency? $5 = Rs 335 (approx.) so we can buy a bunch of stuff. Food (more in the form of groceries then from a restaurant), We can get a cappuccino for Rs60, Maybe one new top would come in that much. Stationary....makeup .....the list goes on.
