Do Spiders freak you out?

When I took this photograph at the Botanical Gardens in Oxford, I was interested in capturing the raindrops on the petals of the flower. It wasn't until I'd actually taken the picture and uploaded it onto my computer to view that I noticed there was a spider in the middle of it. I've always found spiders fascinating. I know a lot of people who are just terrified of them. As long as I know it's not a poisonous spider, I have absolutely no problem with spiders and I seem to be the designated person in our house who rescues them and puts them outside. I would never harm one. Are you afraid of spiders?

@5thHouse Spiders are interesting to learn about but no, I don't like them! They freak me out! If I ever see one in my house, I will try to capture them and put them in the garden as I don't want to kill them. I'm not one to hurt or kill just because I am scared of something. But I really do prefer them to not be walking around my house with those freaky 8 legs!

I think of spiders as allies in the fight against deadlier insects like mosquitoes, fortunately we have almost no poisonous spiders in the Philippines so I leave them alone and teach people and my kids to do the same.

@Letranknight2015 why freak at something that can't harm you? I am more afraid of mosquitoes cause they might bring dengue to my kids and that would drain our finances

yeah, but they go to places were humans can see them and freaks us out. I have seen a huge spider once in the branch of moringa i just look at and walk fast than the speed of light.

Cockroaches would be a different matter. I'm glad to say I haven't encountered any yet. I'm sure I would freak out if I did.

No fear of spiders at all. Rural Aberdeenshire. Spiders are housemates. They serve a purpose. This is bad I know but I used to feed them to my Bearded Dragons.

A fine photo (don't those purple houseleeks just cry out to be photographed, raindrops or not?) and a beautiful, delicate spider. I have never been scared of spiders, though I might be if I thought any were venomous enough to harm me. Fortunately, none are in the British Isles.

I am so afraid of spiders even if they are not poisonous. In general, I am afraid of insects. I know the spider is not considered an insect but those creepy crawlies are just too creepy for me to handle.

Yes and I hate them. They have a way of getting inside and sometimes getting in your bed to give you a nasty bite.

No, I'm not. I also try to put insects, which have found their way inside the house, out again.

No,I'm not afraid of spiders. We had an English friend who visited here and was keen on photographing grasses. On showing his photos back home he discovered he'd taken three photos of a snake, virtually at his feet.
