How do you pronounce paprika? I have always pronounced it pap+reeka. Everyone I know says pap+reeka. However, while sitting in the break room at work today, I saw a bit of a cooking show on television. On the show, the chef pronounced it as paw+preeka. I have never heard that before. Now I am wondering. Is it pap+reeka or paw+preeka? What say you?

I think it is propely pronounced pap-reeka, and I always say it that way. Maybe the chef on the show had a southern twang.

He didn't sound southern. I didn't hear any sort of accent in his voice at all. He just pronounced that one word funny. Then again, he likes whiskey in his milkshakes,

@Dreamer93 Maybe the whiskey was responsible for a slurred pronunciation!

I always say pap+preeka. I've never heard it said any other way.
