I was 22 home on weekend leave from work and that mo rning just light snow so we decided to drive to Rapid City where I lived most of t he time to do some shopping and spend the day there I know this is long but this was asked for and hope yo u go ahead and read it. You will see why'I like California please read., I had an appointment with the foot doctor so got that taken care of then I shopped with my mom and' we got grandpa four new pairs of overalls and shirts. We suddenly got a message on the car radio stating that we should get off highway US 212as 'snow drift made them close it.Four in the afternoon' and getting dark from approaching blizzard.' We had pretty good going til we got about three miles from Newell South Dakota and our 'farm.,The roads were badly drifted and visability was bad, We put on two pairs of grandpa's overalls and walked in front of our car,mom and I. Soon we had to stop as the road was blocked completely, seeing a light off in the night blizzard. 'we walked about a quarter of a mile to this country school the teacher was snowed in but had lights' and wood, and a phone We called Butch Brenaman the only tow truck owner and only service station. He came for us and plowed the way towing us;so we did get home,. Nest day the s un came out and I had to be driven back t o Rapid City to work. I grew up in NY most of my life and I remember the snow storms, road blockages, snow shoveling and power outages. It wasn't much fun...I'm glad everything turned out okay for you.

That was a bad snow storm. At least the tow truck came and you made it home. There was a blizzard so bad once that I had to stay at the store for twenty four hours.

That was quite an adventure. I have had to abandon my car in a snowdrift in the past also
