I just hate spammers pt.2

My mom almost fell for a scam that offers a business proposal. The woman scammer allegedly from South America was looking for a business partner whom she can trust and do business with from another country. The business partner would receive funds to put up a huge business in her country. She chose to scam my mom. My mom gave her personal information to the scammer via email. She asked me if I can lend her some money so she can open a bank account where the funds can be sent. Without asking what is the bank account for, I lent her some money. She was able to open a dollar savings account. After that, she was asked via e-mail to deposit a sum of money amounting to 6,000 USD to the scammer via Western Union. The scammer said, she needs the money for the processing of the transfer of funds to my mom's newly opened bank account. They sounded like it was really true. My mom said, she doesn't have that big amount of money, then they bargained for 3000. The scammer even called my mom's personal phone to negotiate for the money that they're asking. She said that the business won't push through if they don't get the money to process the transferring of funds. The woman on the phone sounded very friendly, she even said that she was so excited for the business, and even dragging the name of the Lord, Jesus to their dreadful scamming business. My mom's almost lured of her sweet promises. She agreed to send 1000 USD to the scammer via Western Union. Good thing my mom doesn't have that large amount of money at that time. She asked me if I have a that amount of money. That's when I got curious, what is she going to do with that big amount? I asked her that question. Then, she told me that someone has been calling her from South America looking for a business partner. Then I said, What????? Is that what the account that you opened recently is for? She said, yes. And then I asked her, how did you know that woman? Where did she get your number? She said, she gave her number to her through email? Then I asked where did you get the email? Was it from your inbox, or from your spam folder? She said she couldn't remember. I told my mom that there were emails going around scamming people like what they're doing, and then they would ask for money. I told my mom, if you give them the money, then you need to say goodbye to it forever, because they will never send you the funds that they promised. I have read it somewhere before, that if you send money via western union, you won't be able to track it or get it back anymore. So my mom was stunned for a minute. She was overwhelmed that there was someone who could do that to her. I told my mom, so the next time you get that kind of email, delete it right away. Because the scammers will try their best to tempt you with sweet promises.

I turn away a number of telephone scammers every week, sometimes more than one a day. Some are trying the old 'Your computer's running slowly' nonsense, others are trying to harvest personal details via so-called surveys. And that's before I even start deleting all those spam scam emails.

They seem to target older people more... I've heard similar stories happened here too... And I also know a 60+ man who lost all his savings to scammers from Africa.

Woah... I feel sorry for her... It's really sad that there are people out there who can make those kinds of scams. I hope they get caught.
