Why I Started Mounting My Bike!

There is one pretty, personable, and smart lady (a fellow myLoter), who loves biking. I wondered why she chose biking instead of the gym for physical fitness. Out of curiosity I did some research in the internet about the health benefits of pumping pedals. I learned that cycling keeps our hearts healthy. Who does not want a healthy heart? Biking gives us stamina. I just started biking two weeks ago and I could feel my energy level has significantly increased! Furthermore, cycling protects us from diseases like stroke, depression, heart attack, and obesity to name a few. But here is one health benefit of cycling that really surprised me – It enhances or heightens one’s sex drive. A study conducted by the University of California showed that exercising like cycling enhances men’s sexual drive. It is also observed that some women experience born-again desire for sex. Okay, folks, it’s time to mount my bike! Oh, man, it is raining in Calgary today! By the way, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are parting ways. I am sure they don’t bike! Do you ride your bike on a regular basis?

If there's something I've been doing regularly since 2013, it's cycling. From mountain bike to road bike, I just enjoy doing long rides. It's the best stress buster for me.

Go for it @antonbunot ! We just started pulling out the bikes recently . . . my little son just graduated to a new bike. It's just nice to be outdoors doing an activity that takes you places. Plus you end up with toned legs - woo hoo!

@antonbunot I wish it were raining here - no chance of that anytime soon! You mean you don't have an umbrella large enough to cover over you and your bike?

I tried to ride my husbands old bike but the seat was just too uncomfortable for me so I haven't tried since. If I got a comfy seated bike I probably would. If they still made bikes with seats on the back for younger children I would take my son with me.

Last spring I bought a bicycle. Last year I used it a fair amount. My mom passed away in the fall and since then my father has been in my care. I've taken my bicycle out about three times this year. My father is looking at moving into a retirement residence. This should free me up just in time for winter. There is next year.

@Morleyhunt . . . First, my heartfelt condolence for the passing of your loving moither, my friend. My parents passed away 20 years ago. I still miss them. How old is your father? Yeah, there is next year . . . Hopefully, you will be pumping those pedals on regular basis for physical fitness.

I have a trike. three-wheeled bike which I use for my morning exercise around our place; I am for its health benefits, but not for the last one: about being active in "it" ; already old for it!
