This is for @Drosophila, who misses my "national day of" posts and insisted that I start writing about them again! So, here goes:
Today is National Chocolate Milk Day! Chocolate lovers everywhere can rejoice in the fact that they not only can eat their favorite delicacy, they can also drink it too! So, let's raise a frothy brown glass of chocolate milk and toast to such a wonderful day! And if you're hungry, today also happens to be National Corned Beef Hash Day!
For those of you that watched the presidential debate last night between Trump and Hillary, today is also National Voter Registration Day! I know last night's debate was so exciting and thrilling that you just want to rush out this morning and register to vote, so now's your chance! And for those of you who have never registered to vote before, shame on you! The right to vote is the very cornerstone our democracy was founded on! So what that we have two buffoons running for President! You should still register to vote! (Mickey Mouse is a viable write-in candidate).
Finally, here are two lesser known, but equally important, ones: today is National Woman Road Warrior Day and National Crush a Can Day. Not sure of the story behind these two, but I'm sure there are many women road warriors out there that have crushed a few cans in their day!

Woot! welcome back to good ol'e food days! I do like the idea of corn beef hash! however, in Ireland its a challenge to find it.. mad right? as supposedly that's our national dish.
I try not to watch the debate, as it just depresses me more.. I am so glad I am not a US citizen so I don't feel the burden to chose..

Wendy, where in Ireland do you live? And I can't believe it is hard for you to find corn beef hash! It is readily available in many places here in the States!
And yes, us Americans have a very heavy burden to shoulder in the election this year. For the first time in my life, I really don't want to vote on election day.

@moffittjc I live outside Dublin so not exactly rural, but what am trying to tell folks is that corn beef is not as widespread or popular as they'd think in Ireland.
Well, I must admit I don't like Hilary or Trump for different reasons! Yet one gotta wonder what happened to make these 2 the last running candidate

@Drosophila I have a friend named Trevor who lives in Dublin! He works for the city of Dublin, in their parks and recreation department. He was just here in the States about a month ago for a conference we were hosting in Orlando. Great guy! Doesn't like Guinness though. Everyone has their faults!

Believe it or not, before I had some today, it had been years since I've had any chocolate milk. My kids drink it all the time, but I never gave it much thought. I think I will start making some chocolate smoothies in my blender! That should be delicious!
