Official Absentee Ballot, Painting On Slate, and No Rest For The Wicked.

It is taking me a long time to get through all the comments on my posts but I keep at it until its done. Every one who leaves a comment gets at least one back from me...eventually. Thank you for being patient. Yesterday my Official Ballot for the American Presidential Vote arrived. I do know who I am voting for President and my Ballot will be in the mail today. Our Thanksgiving is in two weeks and that means the BIG Thanksgiving art and craft show is on. I will be there but to be there I have to paint every day, all day to build my stock. I have no stock built so far because (and I'm not complaining) the store in Niagara On The Lake moved to the main street and my art is flying out of her store. In the past on the side street I would sell 5 or 6 a month, in the new location I deliver a dozen and they call me the next day saying they are gone....I have sold more this summer and made more money than ever before. Tourist Season is almost over. There will be events that will bring a lot of people to Niagara On The Lake, but not like Summer... The store has a lot of stock now so I can start building my stock for the other stores and for the long weekend show. I have two Wineries to stock. The other stores I have given up and removed my art. Its just to hard to keep them stocked and they don't sell as fast as the others. I needed to downsize and did it... I'm proud of myself. Life should be easier now... After Thanksgiving (October 10) I will have more time for myLot. I have been missing you all, and I'm looking forward to being around more in the fall and winter. Happy Fall to All!

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. Exciting news about your work flying off the shelves at the one location. I stopped by because I wanted to find you on the photo sharing site and it doesn't look like I can put your username into the search box to find you that way. How does one find friends there? Maybe you need to send me a link for one of your photo's and I can link to you that way perhaps? I've not uploaded anything yet.

@PainsOnSlate I just uploaded one photo. Will have to wait before doing more since I need to finish my payroll and get ready for the day cleaning windows. Maybe I can find my Maui album and add more another day soon.

You do beautiful work it is not surprising that it is popular. I am thinking I need to talk to you about something for the Florida home, after things calm down.

We can talk and if I come down this winter I can bring something with me. I am supposed to get a knee replacement in January and if that happens we won't be traveling, I will in physical therapy (for 4 months)...If its canceled or postponed (which happens in Canada) we will be heading south.

Thank you, I am getting ready for a big show in a week, then I can relax and not do anything until spring. Seasonal is a good thing for me. Although I will be painting from now to then just to build stock but not all the time....

We will start our early voting here in about two weeks. I like to go in early the lines are so much shorter. Good job on selling your crafts, you must be very good at your work.

I didn't realize that had early voting in the states. When I lived in the states, I never did it...it must be new or in certain states only, Get out and vote, Mine is in New York by now.

@PainsOnSlate In my opinion it has gone to the extreme now, they have it here for about 3 weeks. That seems like a bit much and a waste of resources to me. Seems like just adding in a week of early voting and a few Saturdays would be good enough.

I'm glad all is well with you, sometimes its good to downsize and concentrate more on the profitable stores... do you do themed art... eg certain type art types for the wineries, than for the visitors and tourists... or th same sort of thing wherever it is sold... good luck with re stocking and catching up on here...e

Wow, congratulations. Soon you'll be on YouTube explainin your art to some college kid who wants to follow in yer footsteps ... come to think of it, do you even have any competition for the kind of art you create? I know very little about the Art world so forgive me if that was improperly worded.

No competition locally. I sell in only special stores. Two wineries and a high end store in Niagara On The Lake - a tourist mecca. I have downsized the number of stores because I'm tired of stocking them. The ones I have now are golden and keep me busy enough and in the money too...You won't see me on you tube teaching...its not what I like to do. I'm sure others have tried to copy me but no one does it like I do... And I don't put them on line because that invites people to copy my art...

I love what I do, it took years to figure out how to merchandise my art. With help from friends who have the opportunity to sell my work in their businesses, it grew and grew. It started with simple craft shows with friends.
