Many things have been happening in my life. Some good, some bad.
*I'm fasting. It's Yom Kippur, our day of atonement. Just returned from synagogue and already have a headache.
*My hubby saw the surgeon last Friday. The doctor confirmed that my hubby has C5 Palsy. Therapy begins tomorrow at a facility not too far from us. That and time will help him lift his arms. He is slowly eliminating the use of his neck brace. The doctor was pleased with the incision and more so, with the pins still in the correct position in his spine.
*We received our flu shots. We haven't had the flu since 1986. My arm aches, and my husband feels nothing in his arm.
*The carpenter put shoe moulding around the baseboards and planed one of the French doors in our new family room. The painter begins next week. All the new furniture is being held, and ready for delivery.
*Our electricity was shut off today. I forgot to pay the online bills! I paid them by calling our supplier on my smartphone with my credit card, and it's back on. I blame it on no time to get online and being overworked.
*We have to move into our son's house with Doodles from Friday to Monday to kittysit Kuma, his female cat. My son is taking his fiancée to Montreal for a long weekend vacation.
*Tickets are purchased for our flight to Florida. We leave December 7 and return April 5. I will desperately miss Doodles, the cat, but am looking forward to being by the water, seeing my friends, and interacting with Orville, the osprey.
*I'm still working on my 350+ notifications. Please bear with me. Life has been quite unusual for me.

@just4him His shoulders were numb from the surgery, but right off the bat, even in the hospital, he couldn't lift his arms. He is making a tiny bit of progress, but not enough. It will take a long time for the muscles, tendons, and nerves to regenerate. Therapy is for his neck, shoulders, and arms.
I hope you have a wonderful trip after catching up on your notifications. Every time I sit down to myLot, my husband needs me to help him with something. I'm going mental!!!

@DianneN That's progress. I don't think he had feeling before in his shoulders, am I right or was that just his arms? At least it sounds to me like progress is being made and that's a good thing.
I write every day. I still have over 300 and that's just for two days. I'm hoping to be caught up by the time I go to bed tomorrow night because I'll be gone on vacation for three days next week. No phone, no computer, no technology of any kind. It will be great.

Enjoy your trip to Florida. I know that it is a ways off. I also went to Yom Kippur services.

@BelleStarr I'm sure you know we don't celebrate Christmas and if we did, we'd go down later, too. Chanukah falls in January this year, but it's a non religious one. The kids and grandkids will still get their gifts, before we leave.

You've definitely had quite a lot going on! Hope everything settles down for you soon and you can catch your breath! Hey, if by chance I make it down to the WPB area while you're there, you want to meet up for coffee? Not sure if/when I'll be traveling down there, but my mom's health is quickly deteriorating, so I'm pretty sure at some point I'm going to need to take a trip to help my brother and other family members. I'll only be a hop, skip and a jump away from if I'm down there to see my mom!

@DianneN Do you know if Too Jays restaurant is still there on Lake Worth Beach? That would be a great place to meet up!

Lots of stuff going on! I hope this week is going well for you and Hubby. Hopefully with therapy things will speed up for him - I can't imagine being without arm usage for so long - thank goodness you have been there for him!
Ah, Florida . . . something to look forward to! Can Doodles come with you guys?
Believe me, I'm always behind on notifications. But I miss a lot of posts as well . . . things just fly on myLot! I will always find you though - I just may be super late!

@DianneN I hope the therapy works too - but I know initially it can be rough. I hate the saying no pain, no gain - but it's actually true, right?
Awwww, I'm sure Doodles will miss you too!
I think we're always behind here . . . even when we get caught up, we get behind again real quick !

My poor hubby! I hope the therapy works. So far, it just makes him sore.
Doodles goes back to his daddy. I'm going to miss him so much. I love that cat, but so does his daddy.
Lol! You make me feel much better about notifications and posts.

@DianneN Though it is painful,I know you have to persist doing the therapy.Only then can the hands get back their moment.

Funny how life gets in the way. Your headache is probably a caffeine headache. I cut way back on my caffeine intake at least a week before a fast day.

Prayers for your husband's continued healing. And that the workmen get everything done in order and on time. I know there are seasons in life where everything becomes overwhelming. Take a deep breath and remember, this too shall pass. Have a blessed day
