Favorite "Girl" Songs #3 - "Stupid Girl"

We're at #3 in my Favorite "Girl" Songs series (@FourWalls is doing one as well. We have yet to match!) #3 belongs to Garbage and their 1996 hit "Stupid Girl." Fronted by Shirley Manson, Garbage formed in Madison, Wisconsin in 1993. Multi-instrumentalist's Duke Erickson and Steve Marker, and drummer/percussionist Butch Vig round out the lineup. (You may remember Vig as the Grammy-winning Producer of Nirvana's Nevermind album.) They have, according to Wikipedia, sold over 17 million units worldwide. And, they've done a Bond theme! "Stupid Girl"was a single from Garbage's self-titled 1995, double Platinum debut. The song was an international hit, but stalled at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100. (Fun Fact: Punk band The Clash received a writing credit for "Stupid Girl." Listen, and you should recognize a sample of the drums heard on that band's "Train in Vain.") I once totally spaced Garbage in a music series that they deserved a spot in. This time, I didn't forget.

Why, this is pure Garbage!!!! Nice of them to credit the Clash, even though I don't think it's that blatant/obvious (unlike the "Roxanne" ripoff of the Police in .38 Special's "Hold On Loosely").
