Did anybody miss me?

I've not posted on here since the end of August and - I hope nobody will condemn me for this - I can't say I've really missed myLot. That was quite a surprise for me as I would have thought it would be hard to stay away. I've just been so ridiculously busy at work and at home that I've not had the time to drop by and check on everybody. I have frequently thought "I should tell them about the funny thing that happened today" but somehow, once you make a break, it's hard to get back in the saddle again. I volunteer on an online cancer forum that takes a lot of time and for the past four weeks, my husband and I have been doing 'tea and cake therapy' with our elderly neighbour who lost her husband. Most evenings, if I'm at home, we're round her house chatting and using up my old myLot time. I'm back now and I'm really not sure how it will go. I'm looking forward to trying to catch up on the news from myLot-world.

@boiboing You have been missed - I was wondering about you yesterday and up you pop! Glad things are well with you. Your elderly bereaved neighbour obviously needs you more than we do but it's good to see your name here again.

@boiboing Is there anywhere nice you'd like me to psychically send you?

You have been missed because @BelleStarr even posted a discussion in which she asked if anyone knew where you where or if you were okay.

@boiboing I have to confess that it had not occurred to me until I read that post, at which time I realised that I had not noticed you around recently.

I am happy to see you back . But at least you have done something so worthwhile while you were not here . I hope your elderly neighbor has already adjusted to being alone now . But then , she is lucky to have you and your husband as neigbors.

I don't think anybody can adjust in a month after losing someone after 45 years of marriage. But she's crying less than before which is a big improvement.

@boiboing Nice to have you back. At least it seems like you've been putting your time to good use while you've been away.

To be perfectly frank I think you just found better things to do - like the cancer forum and helping your neighbor. It is nice however to stop by and relax for a few minutes here on MyLot so I am glad that you are back.

@boiboing I worked in a hospital once and people dealt with the problems my making a joke of things that really were not very funny at all. That is how they coped.

Oh yes, she's being well looked after. But we take the evening shift when her step-children and her friends have gone home.

Just too busy. And once you break a habit, it's hard to get back to it again.

I have found several people are too busy to be here as much as they were. I'm one of them. I found a publisher for my scholarship book, and we are meeting and getting things ready. We're working on the contract now, fine tuning it. It's all good, just busy, like you.
