What a fun day we had today! I drove my hubby to meet his best friend at their favorite breakfast shop, where they used to meet three times a week after their gym workouts. Steve waited outside for my hubby to arrive. I drove home and awaited my husband's phone call to pick him up. They had a great time seeing each other, and it was thrilling for my hubby to get out of the house and talk baseball and football to someone who cares. Then we went to our favorite lighting showroom where we found a chandelier for our new family room. An electrician will be here tomorrow to give us an estimate to put it together and hang it for us. This will be our 7th crystal chandelier in our Connecticut home. Do you have any crystal chandeliers? I'm just crazy about them.

@DianneN Yes, indeed. Don't you see it yourself? That would be odd.

@MALUSE No. I tried another one. Can you tell me if it is ok? I updated my iPad. That may be the problem.

Awww - I'm so glad your hubby is now well enough that he can go out - sounds like he enjoyed his time with a great friend. Wow, 7th chandelier! A chandelier probably wouldn't work in our small place . . . but there are so many really pretty ones out there!

@DianneN I hope you got in some "me time" too . I know I've seen purple ones online, but I'm sure a chandelier is something you want to see in person before you actually buy .

@much2say Thanks. It's much better to see everything in person. I'm afraid purple will be hard to find in a store, so I may have to look online. I haven't had me time in over 9 weeks. :(

I was thrilled he got out of the house. I love chandeliers, and am keeping an eye open for a purple one for my granddaughter, who uses my son's boring gray bedroom, when she visits.

It depends on your decor and look of your house, I suppose. We put one in our beachy looking condo in Florida. It dresses it up. Anything in a house needs constant cleaning.

So glad hubby managed to get out. Being stuck at home all the time is an ordeal even with your loved ones! Yes I love chandeliers although I don't have any - show us a picture when it's up!

His friend was as happy to see him as my hubs was to see him. He has visited and phoned often since my husband's surgery. That's what I call a true friend. I want the chandelier to twinkle through our arched windows.

I don't have crystal chandeliers. I mostly have ceiling fans and a wrought iron one which I quite love. I am a Waterford fan but the dusting would drive me nuts lol. I am the cleaning lady!! So happy that hubs was able to enjoy some time with his friend.

@DianneN Me, I like pendant lights myself, things that have globes on them that you can change when you change your colour accessories of a room.

@Juliaacv We had globes in our other home. It was more contemporary than our house now. Both our tastes changed drastically after our vacations in Europe. I don't change our accessories.

I do like the look of crystal chandeliers just not having to clean them. We have a very old-fashioned house so they would seem out of place here. Let's see a pic of the chandelier all hung up.

I'm having trouble loading anything now. Cleaning isn't difficult. I just bought a new spray on cleaner, however. The shop uses it, too.

I'm glad to hear you husband had a great time with a wonderful friend while you were like a happy and willing chauffeur. I would love to see your new crystal chandelier. I have one crystal chandelier, the only one I got and I think this is more than 20 years old.

I am so glad to hear of your husband's outing. We don't have a chandelier. I have had them elsewhere but only because they were there already when I bought the house. I have no skill at decorating.

Happy for you. I do not have any but some nice decorative ones at my apartment. As I was moving around I have lost touch with many of my friends and tough to meet up with them too. But I cherish the rare moments - siva

Great to know you had a good time.No chandeliers here, they look very classy . Their mention reminds me of the Alfred Hitchcock movie..Family plot where a jewel was hidden by sticking it on the chandelier
