Fast - Day 3

You have no idea how much I wish I could eat right now. I can't. In fact I just read the directions for the yucky stuff and found I need to wait to drink it until before I go to bed. Makes no sense to me. I'll be awake all night. Then I need to drink the second one at least two hours before the procedure tomorrow. Yep, up all night. Looks like I'll be sleeping all day tomorrow. I had two videos to watch about this sent to my e-mail yesterday and watched them before I went to bed last night. I found out my three day fast was actually recommended. So I did good on that. Each drink is 16 oz. and followed by two 16 oz. of water. Nothing like being in the bathroom the whole night. When we had three day fasts for church, they ended with a potluck soup supper after the Wednesday night service. Such is not the case for me. My fast ends tomorrow after the procedure. I can't wait. I would love to take a steak out of the freezer right now and put it on the griddle with three eggs and hash browns. Okay, I need to stop thinking like that or I will only make myself hungrier. So right now I'm just a bit depressed with it all. I had to cancel my hair appointment for today because of this. Why oh why am I going through this? No, don't answer that. I'm just needing to voice my trepidation at the moment. Last year I didn't know what I was getting into when they brought me that jug to drink. Now I do. At least it's less than it was last year, but it would be better to get it over with right now than to wait until I go to bed. My face is taking a beating because of this. My nerves have broke out all over and I'm a picker, so it looks like a landmine. I need to calm down and I'm thankful for myLot to help me keep calm. Thanks for reading.

I'm still not sure what you're talking about, but a colonoscopy is still my best guess.

@just4him Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the age when they tell you it's time you have to get them.

@AmbiePam I ignored it for a long time. They say you're supposed to get one when you turn 50. I was 62.

Think of the bright side of life. Just continue doing mylotting or reading a book. Never let bad circumstances put you down. You are a strong woman.

@annierose When I finished a couple days ago, I did all the suggested ones. I let them pile up until I got all the notifications done. Then I was going to write one more post or do something else but the computer acted up so I couldn't do anything except go watch some television, and in the case of Saturday, I got everything taken care of from when my sister and brother-in-law were here and took all the stuff to the thrift store that needed to go. My living room looks so much better now that everything is finally the way I want it. Yesterday I watched television when the computer started acting up. From now on I have a back-up. I bought a tablet today and am getting used to it, though right now I'm on the desktop.

I don't envy you at all. I have been through it once and it isn't any fun. I was starving afterward and my son took me out to eat. I hope everything goes okay and that you are able to have the big steak.

It's thawing on my counter right now. I'm planning steak and eggs with hash browns and a large glass of milk.

It will all be over tomorrow and then I'll be able to eat once again. I'm heading to bed in a few minutes. I'm totally wiped out.

I wish there was something I could say to make it easier to get through the procedure, but time is probably the only 'fix' for this one. I hope it's over as quickly as possible tomorrow so you can get back to your normal routine.

Thank you. The hospital just called and I found out I don't need to wait until tonight to take the first 16 oz. So I've already started drinking it. It tastes like bad cough syrup.

Food ideas are rushing through my brain. I might even go to fast food when all is said and done, but that is doubtful. I'm trying to stay away from that.

It is frustrating to not be able to eat but keep in mind, this too will pass. I hope the hours go by quickly for you. Good luck with the procedure.
