What are some intelligent games for children and teens?

What other games would help your children develop their minds? Scrabble and chess seem as good options, but what else is there out there?

Crossword puzzles corresponding to their age can help a lot

Books of puzzles are also quite good (or electronic versions if desired), such as crosswords, wordsearches and sudoku. They aren't for everyone though. Monopoly can, to an extent, be useful teaching people about money.
