Casper

I know I have mentioned about my first kitty Casper. So I thought I'd tell you about my boy. He was only a part of my life for a 1 and 1/2 but it was the best 1 1/2 ever!! You know that Richard surprised me with Casper after begging for a kitten for 2 years. Casper, as you can tell by his name, was pure white with ice blue eyes when I got him. Richard was told Casper was 8 weeks old when he adopted Casper. I'm not so sure tho. The reason I was not so sure was because I had this pink Snuggie that I always covered myself with on the couch. When Casper came home I placed him on the couch with me and he started kneading and sucking the pink Snuggie. He loved that Snuggie!! That was now his blanket!! As Casper grew his yellow color began to come in. I was told by our vet that he was a very rare cat. They never told me why or what kind of breed they thought he was they just always said he was beautiful and soft like cotton and very rare. After Casper was the only kitty most his life Richard found Chloe. Casper did not like Chloe at first. He ignored her and hissed for a day. Then the next day he walked up to her and slapped her. I guess he was letting her know that he was the king ping of the house. But right after the slap he grabbed her, held her down and started grooming her. He constantly licked her, groomed her, watched over her and always let her eat first. He was like her mother. Chloe was only 4 weeks when she came into our life. After some time we decided to move to a larger house. We now had 3 dogs and 2 cats. Well that was a huge mistake!! Long story short... One night Richard and I woke up yesterday Casper vomiting everywhere. I mean everywhere. The floor, the walls, the laundry, everywhere. We had no clue why. We thought he was just ill. We cleaned up the vomit and went back to bed. The next day Casper wouldn't eat, which was rare. Casper had turned into a HUGE cat. Even our vet said he was a huge boy so for him not to eat we knew something was very wrong. We took him to the vet and the took X-rays and said that there was a foreign object in his belly and needed surgery. It was going to be $2500. That was a lot of money for us but we used all the money we had and said ok. They scheduled it for the next day. We went home. The next day we woke up and Casper couldn't breathe. We immediately went to the vet and told them. They put him in an oxygen room and they said he was getting better. They told us that once he was stable they would do the surgery, for us to go home. We asked to see our boy first. We gave kisses and love and promised Caspy we would be back for him. We got home and weren't home not even 15 minutes when the phone rang. It was the veterinarian. Now I won't go into details but basically he said Casper did not make it to surfer and that he passed. That was a shocking and devastating phoned call I ever had. Richard and I still cry to this day and it's been a year and a half later. The foreign object, we were told by the vet, was the top to a door stop!! Casper never chewed on anything! He was good like that! That's why I say moving was a HUGE mistake! We cremated Casper and tell him we love and miss him all the time!! We both believe that the vet put Casper too far under. They said he had a congenital heart defect but our vet where we use to live never saw that. I don't know. I know it may seem like we went too soon but the next day we adopted Lenny because Chloe was grieving so hard for Casper. We didn't want her to be alone. And I'm telling you that it was a pure blessing that we found Lenny because he is just like Casper in so many ways!! We says he is Casper reincarnated!! Lenny will never replace Casper but he has definitely helped ease the pay for us and Chloe. I hope I didn't depress anyone I just wanted to get that out!! I'm going to post some awesome pics of Casper and Chloe. I know you'll love them!!

Such a beautiful kitty. So sorry for your loss. It is difficult when we lose a fur baby. I am glad that you decided to add Lenny to your family.
