Good afternoon and a quiet one here.
I have a question for you.
If your house was on fire and all the family ,pets are out of the house.
What would be the first thing to grab when you leave.
Never gave this a thought.which tells me that I need to keep my papers, bank account and investment in a metal case. With all this information your going to need it.I remember in Oklahoma in one of our visit. We had a tornado warning.
The person that we stayed with. The first thing that she had was a strong box of her papers, plus cash.I never think of this. But going to put this in mind.
So what is the first thing that you grab leaving your house fire.

I have the fire-proof metal case ready. I would grab that, my purse, my laptop and my eighteen year old fern. I know it's just a plant but it's been with me a long time :))

My purse, my ID and health cards are there. Then I will need something for scaveng... Oh wait, that's only a house on fire, not a zombie apocalypse. Purse comes first, and it is easy to get hopefully.
In the same room I can grab my laptop, my mobile phone and the piggy bank. Then I'm done.
I will think of a metal case too, by the way.

@sabtraversa Meta case is fine.I was thinking of your country men in the earthquake there.
I can imagine if they can find any important papers etc.Something people do not talk about?

@amadeo Exactly, they often tell of vultures/jackals stealing from the ruins but no mention about documents or important papers.

@HAPPSINGH I'm also one of the youngest of myLot, no wonder I'm a natural beauty.
There is a lipgloss and an eye pencil in the purse though.

@Happy2BeMe Not sure if can handle the photo album.Have so many.I probably trip over something.
But the most important will be family album.
Someone here comment that she has a fireproof safe.Which is a good idea.
Never thought of it.

I'd grab my camera, and my backup external drive that I have all my photos on, and if I had time, my laptop. There's also a statue and relic of St. Sebastian, my favorite saint, that I'd stuff in the camera bag on my way out. My important papers are in a fireproof safe, so I wouldn't be as worried about that.

My phone because I'd like to avoid having to get a new one. At least for a while. My ID and debit cards can easily be replaced (another reason to grab the phone) and my important papers are safe in a fireproof box.

We had a very real fire scare last year. My hubby was mad cause I ran out with my computer and not his. Thank God we came back to an intact house. So much to grab and most of it precious! One of our cats hid under my bed. I worried about him all that night as I tried to sleep in a town motel.

I have a fire-proof strong box that I would grab; along with my wallet and car keys; all of which are within 5-feet of the front door @amadeo .

Photos. Irreplaceables, such as my vintage dolls or perfume bottles.
And a coat in case it's cold outside. *grin*
Important documents can be scanned into a Dropbox account {or similar}, which reminds me that I must do this. You wouldn't have the originals, but at least you'd have copies of everything, which would save time.

My diary: That is my real wealth. I think I will sound cheesy, but that is the only worthwhile thing that I believe I have. It's as if I'll rescue myself if I can take away that diary. There's lot of stuff there, you know lol. Then comes my laptop and smartphone, the insurance papers. I think I'll let everything else burn down even if have time.
