My son played with all kinds of toys when he was little..so I think it is up to the parents. However...my son is fine...

I don't really see the need for it, it can't really benefit them at all in my opinion.

I have always forbid the kids to play with or even own toy weapons of any kind..of course thats not to say that they dont use a hockey stick or tree branch etc but that cant be helped really...but toy weapons I dont allow for specific reasons really..oddly enough the violence factor has nothing to do with it since they play Grand Theft Auto and the like...

every little boy should be allowed to play cops and robbers and games like it. it teachers them to uses there minds. make believe is a good thing for kids to learn.

if they are toys i dontsee the problem but i can understand the debate why they are wrong it may influence them to want the real thing i can see that, sure, but its just a toy so idk i guess it goes both ways,.,
