This vine is so happy here even when it doesn't get a lot of rain. I don't have a name for it but if I did I would invest a few dollars to get more plants. Have you ever seen such a bloom on any of your vines? Just thought I would ask since so many of you have knowledge about plants and things.

The flowers are beautiful. Take apicture and go to a nursery. Maybe they will tell you more about them.

@rebelann I doubt that someone in a nursery can help you. After all, the plant is a weed.

You may have a good point @MALUSE it is a shame though because here in this desert finding plants that do not require a lot of water is limited and this one is very hardy.

It looks like it belongs to the Ipomoea class which comes in many colours.

@rebelann These type of flowers grow on creepers with heart shaped leaves.

That might be the correct family, I'll have to check the leaf designs to see if any of them match. I've never seen these anywhere other than in mom's front yard and now mine.

Looking at the other comments, I "thought" that maybe it would belong to the morning glory family shapewise -but here I've seen them mostly in that purple color. I see the purple ones everyone morning at my son's school on the fence!

They are a type of morning glory but the leaf looks really different. I'll have to go back and find the photo of the leaf for this flower. Sometimes my brain gets hicups and I don't include everything. Dang, gettin old really stinks ..... just glad I can't smell it

Thanks anyway, it's not easy to identify some of these vines. I know it's part of the Morning Glory family but this one likes the hot dry climate we have which is why I'd like to know their botanical name, if I can find it.

Thank you @MALUSE but the leaves that accompany the convolvulus is different from the leaves on my vine.

Yes, they really are pretty. Mom had them all along her fence in the front and boy did it look pretty when they would begin to bloom.

Could be it's too cold for them up there. Mom has had these plants growing along her front yard fence for years and when I got some of the seeds they sprouted here as well, they don't seem to mind the heat and drought and I from what I can figure they are in the same family as Morning Glories, I had hoped they were sweet potato but their leaves are different.

Yes they are and they bloom most of the day as well which is odd for a morning glory especially in our heated summers.
