I used to think that the banks in Hong Kong are good. They are efficient and provide good service. I doubt whether I would think so now. Few days ago I got a call from my bank from Hong Kong. I was told I needed to go there to sign up some documents. In fact I really didn't want to go there at this moment since I was busy. But anyway, yesterday I still went there to sign up some documents. The clerk was really not familiar with the bank issues in my opinion. Such as as to the online transfer, at first I said I could not transfer my money to another bank account which was not their branch. That's quite stupid. The money can be transferred to any banks, otherwise why I needed the online transfer. Then he went inside to ask his head. There were so cases like that. Then at last I especially asked him whether everything was alright and done. He said yes. Then I left. OK, on my way home to Guangzhou in the high way in the afternoon. I got a call from him and he said I "missed" two signatures. Oh... I really hated him because I especially asked him whether everything was OK. I already signed whatever he handed in me. He said I needed to go back to sign it. I said it was not possible since I already on my way home and I didn't have time to do it again. OK, finally he said he would scan the documents and email to me. I sign it and print it and then I send back to him. OK, I don't mind I pay for the express fee although it is his faults. He said he couldn't send the original documents and I guessed he was afraid to pay for it by himself. I already accepted I printed them out and then send him by express right away. I think he would never find a nice client like me! But last night I didn't get his mail. And today I checked the mailbox again and it is the same. Finally I emailed to him an hour ago. When it is time for business, I will make a call to ask him what's wrong with it. I really feel annoyed to it. He should fix his own mistakes immediately.

It sounds like his superiors should be notified. That's very inefficient and really bad for business.

I called a bank customer service before and I was glad the agent helped me. However, when I emailed them, I was so disappointed with their delay and incomplete resolution.

In fact the call center from the Hong Kong bank is not so professional, too. They can't solve your problems immediately and they have to call you later.

That is a very big inconvenience to you! I wouldn't be a happy customer and expedite this to the manager or upper management

I haven't complained about it to the bank. Or he may have a big trouble. But I hope he will understand my kindness and try to do his job well. Frankly, I really feel annoyed to it already.

Sounds a bit unprofessional on their part. At first I thought you meant Bank of Hong Kong - but you're talking about a bank in actual mainland of Hong Kong, right? Is it not far from Guangzhou to HK?

I think banks have mediocre and outright bad service all over the world. They seem to take their customers for granted.

it is really annoying when we have to fix problem other people create. I do not like employees that are deliberately incompetent. It is a sure way to loose me as a customer.
