TIME TO QUIT.

No question about it, smoking is bad for your health, and while you puff away blissfully you also endanger the health of non smokers close by. I imagine quitting won't be easy since smoking can be very addictive. In fact, I knew a Cardiologist who had a daily battle trying to stop smoking, and he, more than anyone else should know the dangers of the habit. Today is December 1 - but not too early to start thinking of new year resolutions. Make quitting smoking one of them.

@SIMPLYD Yes, absolutely right. Its smell is repelling and disgusting. I wonder how smokers bear it. It does more harm than good.

I quit smoking 6 years ago and I think that's one of the best decisions I have taken in my life so far. Quitting is indeed difficult, but definitely not impossible. The sooner a smoker abandons his or her vice, the better for their health.

Good idea. Some people do find it extremely difficult to give up smoking.

I am 67 years old and I quit smoking in 1970 and it was a great thing I did, for myself and for everyone around me. What is your experience with smoking?

I know. The cardiologist I mentioned complained about gaining weight after quitting, hopefully he didn't return to the habit.

I smoked the occasional cig in my youth only because it made me feel "cool" and only when out with a group of friends and I was too chicken to Inhale.

I had a friend who quit smoking when he travelled to USA. As he said that the punishment would be serious and therefore he dared not to smoke. He was afraid he would have to pay for it once he was careless and smoked in a wrong place. And my dad quit smoking some years ago. When he felt like smoking, he went to do some housework instead. So he would not think about it so much. He kept on doing so for several days, then he didn't want to smoke so much. I hope this information may help you quit smoking. Good luck!
