Last November 30, my husband and I brought out our Christmas tree which has been with us for 18 years now. For a lady, it will have its "debut." It is a "Canadian pine," though a replica and not a natural tree. I only added some Christmas balls and some red and blue bells, to make it livelier or happier to look at. We also put a LED Christmas lights which we switch on only at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for safety precaution against fire and to save on electricity too. Do you also put up a Christmas tree?

Ours is a little bit young, but the one prior is about that old, the problem with these plastic trees is that the pines fall off and thins so we cover the bald patches with all sorts of decorations. LED is not that hot and consumes less power so danger of fire is lessened.

@louievill , At home, our Christmas Tree is 15 years old, made of Tyre wires, very strong. It could be swayed and mended naturally. I will try to buy led Christmas lights , the smallest one.Merry Christmas.

Your tree looks lovely. We have a house concert in our lounge on the 15th so putting up the tree will probably have to wait till then.

Wow, it means you take care of it well . It can actually have a new "face" if every year you put a different kind of decoration like for example this year it is all in red ribbons . Next year all in silver . That's what i was doing before with our Christmas tree when our daughter was just a kid until she 's grown up and i stopped putting it up already . We have the triangular golden Christmas tree now , which brother-in-law puts at the sala every year . Then , he put some lights at the porch and inside the house too .

How so lovely.she still look good for an old lady(lol)I too do use artificial trees.learned from a very young age that l do not have to destroy a living tree for a few days christmas. When l was younger (a child) l was not happy we only had artificial trees as mum said NO to a real tree, but now im older,l too prefer an artificial tree.

I agree, we can no longer use real trees (though we do not have lots of pine trees here) because it will destroy the environment; so it is wiser to use an artificial one.

@rajeshrockstar Ours at home is 15 yeas old. Why it looks always new because it is wrapped with around with foil, others bond paper. At home we wrap our Christmas tree with manila paper and tape every corner of it, so when Christmas come, Alas, it looks so new and vibrant.

O, man, I thought our Christmas tree was the oldest Christmas tree on earth. It is 12 years old; but just like your x'mas tree, it is still standing proudly like Donald Trump! Here it is.

Yes and we have the same artificial tree my parents bought when I was 7 or 8, so it's over 40 years old now! The box is rather tatty but the tree is still perfect.
