Available on Kindle

I know a few people have asked me if Scarred is available on Kindle. I learned today it is. So I'm home from my book signing. It was a bust. Not a single copy sold. There was another author who was monopolizing all the patrons. His book Wisconsin International Racing sold like hotcakes, while the rest of us sat basically twiddling our thumbs. A couple other authors did sell a couple books, however, I and another author didn't sell any. I don't know if that was the same story for any other author there. It was disappointing, but it was what it was. Maybe I need to take a class in how to promote and sell my book. I just have no idea how to do it. I did post the book signing on Facebook. I just didn't have time to put out a reminder before I left this morning. My friend came to support me, so I wasn't bored by not selling anything and we went out to eat after it was over. So for those of you waiting for Scarred to come out on Kindle, it is available. I hope your day has been a good one. Thanks for reading.

I will have to check it out on Kindle since that works so much better for me these days than physical books. I did buy a book online from a Facebook friend recently, however, and he signed it for me before sending it out, so that was nice. I'm just so sorry that no one bought anything from you. I know how I'd feel in that circumstance, so I'm doubly glad you had a friend to be with you!

I hope this is just a bad begining. And I congratulate you for your novel! Novels are so difficult to write that I have only written short stories.

Short stories aren't easy to write, at least not for me since I write novels over 100K words.

@just4him There are people who prefer one genre over the other.

@marguicha That's true, though short stories isn't a genre, it's a type of story. Genre would be mystery, romance, historical and so forth.

I'm so sorry you didn't sell any books today, but don't get discouraged. Keep promoting it, and I'm sure Kindle will help with sales. Is it being sold on Amazon? I want to buy it.

@just4him I didn't realize that is was a Christian book. Would it be appropriate for me?

@DianneN It's a great story. If you don't mind the Christian overtones in the book, I think you would like the story. Check out the reviews I got on the first edition on Amazon and you decide about it. I got five star reviews on it and one four star. I don't have any reviews yet on the second edition.

Yes, it's on Amazon. Thank you. You know it's Christian fiction, right? I'm not trying to dissuade you. I think it's wonderful you want to buy MY book.

yeah...we always need the right platform to promote our stuff. I am hesitant to invest too much in my art because i am waiting to find a platform that will be worth it for me. Hope people like your book.

Congratulations. I think your book will make interesting reading. I have always loved historical novels -- by authors Elizabeth Chadwick and others. You may need more promotion for sales to pick up.

Yes, and I do my best, but I'm just not good at marketing and promotions. However, hardly anyone could compete with the author who had a large following and was very busy signing books.

That's unfortunate, Valerie. I didn't realize other authors would be present promoting their books too. What kind of place were you at, a mall or book store or some place else?

@just4him That's too bad. I wonder whether a bookstore in the area would be blessed to have you in there for book signings? Have you gone to any to see if they'd carry your book.

It was Titletown Brewing - It used to be Titletown Depot train station - which is now a restaurant. We were in their Tap Room. Bar. It was very busy, but hence no sales.

@MarshaMusselman I did when Scarred came out the first time. The Christian bookstore did carry a couple copies, but Barnes and Noble wouldn't touch it. The store manager there is mean to local authors as I've learned through the writer's meetings.

Yes, I'm happy about that, even if the royalties aren't as good, at least it sells better that way.

Thank you. It was a blow not to sell any, but it seemed a forgone conclusion when everyone who came into the tap room went directly to the guy who wrote the racing book.
