Aha! I knew there was a reason I subjected myself to the insanity that is Christmas shoppers

Maltesers (mine) Cadbury's (gifting)
United States

No sooner than I woke up today did I go to the store. A couple of family members were going and so I decided to tag along. I needed to pick up a few more things for Christmas anyway and / or get some ideas for what to get people. I did luck out on my Christmas shopping excursion, but it wasn't the most fun. I am the type of person who wants to get in and get out, no looking at every little thing. I just go for what I need, and I'm out. Even if I am not sure exactly what I need, I have a pretty good idea of what I want. Today was no different, other than the fact that I had to wait on another person to get done with their own shopping. I was able to get my grandfather, my aunt's, a cousin (as I don't shop for them all), and my uncle's presents today. So that leaves my sister and brother in law (I'm feeling like this is a gift card sorta situation though) and my nephew. Oh but the gifts I've already gotten isn't even the best part of it. No, the reason I am happy I went is because I found one of my favorite candies of all time. A candy that I have the option of paying around $2.00 to $3.00 for otherwise. Maltesers, yup. A small pack that is what 50 P in G.B. is around $2.00 here (imported, obviously). I paid $5.00 for the pictured box, and the cadbury's assortment I paid $10.00 for. So $4.98 (the exact amount I paid) is 3.91 in GBP. $9.88 is what I paid for the Cadbury assortment or 7.76 in GBP. I think I probably got a good deal on the Maltesers (I can imagine Britain and Australia paying about the equivalent for the set) but I think that the Cadbury Box is a bit overpriced, surely? How much in GBP are the Cadbury Assortment's in the UK right now? Surely you guys have them at the shops there, so I wanna know if you pay a comparable amount to us for it, or if it's much cheaper.

@infatuatedbby the chocolate oranges? Yes they are my all time favorite! I buy them in bar form when one of the websites I shop from has them in stock.

I love cadbury chocolates. These are cadbury chocolate covered cookies. They sell cadbury stuff at grocery stores now, so you maybe can find some the next time you go. That is, if you want to give it a try.

A couple of good choices there. I bet they are a little bit less than they are here but not much.

I have never heard of those. Are they similar to Whopper malt balls? The taste, that is.

I haven't had whoppers in quite awhile but I want to say yes, they are very similar.

I didn't know Cadbury made cookies! Occasionally I'm in the mood to browse while at a store... but I tend to get to a point where it suddenly hits me that I want to leave, and leave now! Doesn't matter what's going on or what more I need to grab.. it seems I have a time limit and once it's done it's done! Thankfully I pretty much only shop with my husband, and most of the time he's good about leaving when I say it's time to go.. Unless he's shopping for a video game or something.. because he is a browser, and he's slow!

@ScribbledAdNauseum Oh I hate video game stores.. and video games in general. When shopping for video games for the kids I leave that completely up to him.. he follows it and knows what they like. I am the clothes shopper.. each one of us has far more clothes than we need (but somehow I can never find anything to wear!).

Eeks! I know that feeling. My ex husband Looved video games. I could stand maybe ten minutes in a video game store before I Was ready to head out. I don't think cadbury makes cookies per se, this might just be a holiday thing.

I am glad you have done most of your Christmas shopping. I never tried Cadbury, we have so many other kinds of chocolate here in Switzerland.

If I'm not mistaken Lindt chocolates and Toblerone are made in Switzerland? I've had them before, Lindt is one of my favorite brands.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Toblerone WAS made in Switzerland, but this company has been sold several years ago. Lindt is a Swiss company, the chocolate we buy here is made in Switzerland, but around the world is made in local factories. In the United States their headquarter is in New Hampshire.
