Few years ago I was part of one rather successful online business with my friends , which was selling unique handmade items with worldwide delivery.I was not only happy with pretty nice earnings, but i was extremely proud by the fact, that thank to our online project many gifted but unknown Russian artisans gained popularity and new customers from abroad. Unfortunately someone from our team decided to sell this project and i am not involved any more.Still now i have an idea to restore this business.Hope,it will work .I deeply respect people who can make something by hands. Dear friends, I am sure many of You are creative people here. Please share with us.What are You good at? Took the photo of one of those glass handmade creation, made by one gifted artisan from Russian province.

I love the glass. You should try to restore the business. I'm sure those sort of hand-crafted items would sell very well. I am absolutely useless with my hands. I'm better with my feet. I was a pretty good football player until age took over.

@Julie555 Thank you. Although I'm assuming 'unique' is a compliment . I have got a couple of novels I'm working on. Still both at the planning stage at the moment. I'll have to make it my New Year's Resolution to spend more time writing.

I hope your project works for you. I used to do a lot of crochet work and often made up my own patterns. That's about the extent of my creativity. :)

That is a beautiful decorative piece of art. Some people are really gifted. All the best with your possible business. If I have any artistic talents that I can do with my hands, I still have to discover them.

This glass is incredible. I think he used an unique mold to do it, and spent a lot of time on it. Selling quality products like this one is certainly a good niche. A friend opened a shop to sell artisan productions, but she did not found enough customers to make a living and closed 3 years later. I believe she would have had more chances with an online shop. Good luck for your project

@Julie555 The advantage of an online shop is that you can do drop shipping if you have many contacts with artisans. I do not think that many would refuse a good/new possibility of outlet for their production. Indeed, it cannot work for unique productions like this glass, but I think that even a good glass maker like him offers also standard hand made glasses. Then you can have a large catalog of products online not needing for you to invest. The main problem is a problem of online visibility at start, like for any online shop.

Thanks for commenting.Actually it was a platform where we used to sell handmade items, not only glass, but wooden and metal made also, close to luxury objects. We were partners, I thought friends as well, but unfortunately as it often happens he was lured by temporary benefit and sold project to interested person abroad.Majority of team members agreed with him,but later regretted.Me and two more people were against this idea, though our opinion was ignored

Handmade stuffs are always very popular because they are unique. My mom is good at cross stitch and something like that. I like painting but I don't think it is good enough to sell my paintings Last time when I travelled to Moscow, I bought a little painting about a cat. I am a cat lover and this painting suits me.

I am not an artist but love art & crafts a lot. However I feel proud in skills of food-art as I normally receive words of appreciation & warm thanks from friends & relatives after dinner/potluck parties :)) Good to see you rekindled your interest in creative business.
