Brrr - It's a Hot Chocolate Kinda Day

I was up at my usual time this morning just after 5 and in the pool by 6. There weren't many people in the pool today, just two when I got there and they left shortly after I got in the pool. I was the only one until at least 8 when I left. The reason - -3 with a -20 windchill. Baby it's cold outside!
After the pool I went shopping. It seems I don't know how to shop for myself when it comes to food. I hunted the fridge and pantry for food last night, but alas none that was satisfying. So now I have enough, or I better have enough. I shopped for all three meals and snacks so I would have something to eat when the urge hit.
I also found out last night that my Christmas shopping wasn't finished as my older son is now dating. That means I have three more people to shop for. Took care of that as well.
I have a shopping cart to haul all my groceries in. It didn't have room for the presents I bought. Those can stay in the trunk until it's a little warmer, or the next time I go outside - it won't be anymore today.
Good news regarding my oldest son. He called last night and needed my help to get into a motel room. He's the one that's homeless, living in a trailer at the fairgrounds. With it going well below zero last night they needed a much warmer place. He told me when he took me home last night that as of January 1st he won't be homeless any longer. He has a confirmed upper two bedroom apartment. So that's good.
One of the things I bought this morning was candycane cocoa. I'm drinking it right now and it's very good!
Well that's all the news for now. I'll be here the rest of the day interacting and getting my notifications done. I hope you are all having a good day and staying warm if you're caught in this arctic blast.
Snow tomorrow - 6-10 inches. It will be a lot warmer than it is today.

I am horrible about meal planning, and I know if I was better I could save more money. Tonight is leftover roast and salad though. I am glad your son has a place lined up, it is too cold not not have places.

@Jessicalynnt I agree. I know he'll be in the hotel the last week of the month as the fairgrounds closes after the last home game, which is Christmas Eve. Then he moves into his new apartment on January 1st.

I'm glad you are getting everything done.... while it's very cold here ...we are right on the edge of the snow area....so not sure what we might get..., i'm glad your son has got a place lined up and is using amotel for this cold weather.... enjoy your hot chocolate and catching up on here ....

Doing my best to stay warm. I'm in my office with the heater on and usually the door is closed, but at the moment it's open. I'm listening to wonderful Christmas music on the TV holiday channel.
