it was built in 1593-1596 by the Portuguese military. Fort Jesus will be my First planned trip, was designed by the Giavanni Batista Cairrati to protect the Port of MOMBASA from outside attacks. this fort is one of the outstanding and also well preserved Portuguese fortification and landmark in the history of this type. just LOADING...

Forgive my ignorance. Where is it? Is it in the west coast of India where Portuguese once had colonies?
