December Introspections

I usually get fairly reflectively in December Something about the end of the year always prompted me to review my year. A bit like a personal annual review if you like. For the most part, this process prompts more questions than anything else. e.g. What are the major changes? Could I have done anything better? etc I wonder if anyone else feels introspective in December? How's your December in general

In December I like to think of all of the things that I have done during the year.

I constantly reflect and do not wait until the end of the year. I try to make corrections on a regular basis as they are needed. December is a cold, slippery, snowy month and I don't go out as much. But, I try to make the best of it!

Indeed, one don't do critical thinking and course correction once a year. Or one'd be flooded with problems by the end of the year. The December end of the year review is more of a holistic review of the year.. where we hope to identify long-term trends and so on.

Is this not part of the year-end thing, culminating in a list to use for New Year resolutions...? Just a thought.

December is the month I choose to forget everything I have done over the course of the year, so I can look forward to the start of the new year and a fresh start with a clean slate.

@pgntwo I conveniently left out the part about the reason why I forget the whole year is because I have Alzheimers! haha

I don't usually get introspective. I do look forward to a better year though.

I focus on next year ..things seem gloomy at times...if I reflect upon somethings.

Reflection can generate misery aye for sure.. but I think the goal of reflection is to reflect on the same matter but from different angles, rather than reflect on different things, but with the same view.

I have no specific season to be introspective. I rarely look behind, and when I do it is usually to see how I can correct something and move forward.

@topffer i must say something cliche here.. sometimes to go forward you need to go backwards

Though I think, sometimes, much can be learned about ourselves if you look back.

Yeah you want to make reflections when December comes. You assess your life. You see how fast or how slow the days have been for this year. You want to know if this year is one of the best year of your life.

my last article of the year - sometimes my first of the new year is usually a personal retrospective on how the year went for me

I tend to be introspective in December. Have I accomplished enough? What changes do I want to make next year? Etc.

Sounds like what's going on in my head at the moment. I also review how I get on with my current relationships and whether I need to ditch a few

For me, it's out with the old and in with the new. I love fresh starts. Are your parents in Florida or waiting until after Christmas to come?

Fresh starts are definitely good! My parents are likely to be in Florida in the new year. Though, they also thought about going to Australia/NZ so no idea! they are certainly free roaming

I'm not sure I want to review my year - not that it's been drastically good or bad. Probably drastically boring to some but I'm okay with it. :)
