Limits

I don't use Spotify much anymore, it runs too slow on my computer, but my friend just messaged me something that she is upset about it. Apparently there is a song limit to how many songs you can have on a playlist before you have to make a new playlist. That...is..ridiculous. They make the limit 10,000 songs. That might seem like a lot but to an active music listener of many many bands and such...it really isn't. I just have to ask...why is there a limit? They literally make money from ads, why limit how many songs you can have in playlists? It is not like it is taking up space...it is literally a music streaming system. I don't understand and I think it is very stupid. Do you use spotify and have you met the song limit?

Haha, it is the point of spotify to be able to make your own playlists.

@DesirousDreamer Cleary i have got to be school in it, i haven't been able to download the app to my phone at all today- so that's kind of annoying.

im using the app for a long time now and i haven't encountered this. i have plenty of playlists and i haven't been restricted even if i create a playlist for every song i like. 10,000 is a bit of a joke..

10000 really isn't a lot especially if you listen to bands that have well over 20 albums. That is probably 300 songs alone for 1 band! It adds up really quick haha

I haven't used Spotify much. I do enjoy listening to music and have a short playlist on Spotify. This time of year I listen mainly to Christmas music. I have my favorites.

I've probably never used playlists on Spotify. Well, it takes some space, some info about the song and its location. Not a lot perhaps, maybe there were people abusing of it? I don't know. I never upgraded and what I found annoying was that the program kept on opening browser tabs. At least they opened on Chrome, if they had opened on IE it would have been way worse.

It really doesn't take up that much space. They literally have a database and all they have to do is copy and paste the track because the user put it in their playlist. It really isn't that much. I don't like spotify much anymore, it takes off a lot of stuff, doesn't pay a lot of the underdog artists on there, I just, ugh after this I am super disappointed in it haha

I use Spotify but I have never reached the song limit in a playlist. Not sure why Spotify would have a limit though. i agree with you, it just doesn't make any sense.

It seems pretty silly to have a limit on a site that earns so much money.

I donĀ“t use Spotify and I always listen to the same songs over and over again. I have like 20 songs that I listen to regularly. I think 10,000 songs are too many songs. I guess you are a music lover of many music genres

Haha that is okay, I am a music lover of many genres and many many bands so to me 10000 is not a lot. I was able to add 3000 songs in just a week when I first got spotify. I don't use spotify anymore, only for new albums that I want to review but that is it.

@DesirousDreamer I agree. I love it more than my old boombox. Except for a power outage, I'm stuck with it. But since I have my smartphone, maybe I can say goodbye to my boombox.

iheartradio is pretty good. I like it for listening to Sixx Sense. I don't do it that much but it is a good time when I do.

I do use Spotify but I haven't met the song limit yet. I tend to listen to the same music quite a bit, and right now I listen to whatever Christmas music they have available. It introduces me to a lot of new music, which is nice.
