Favorite Lakers Players #3 - Kobe Bryant

I am going on one hour of sleep at the moment, but that isn't enough to keep me from #3 in my Favorite Lakers Players: shooting guard Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant played 20 seasons in the NBA, all of them with the Lakers (according to Wikipedia, Kobe holds the NBA record for most seasons with the same franchise.) In his 20 seasons, Kobe was a five time NBA Champion, a two time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player, and an 18 time All Star. He was the NBA MVP (one time,) and a two time NBA Scoring Champion. He is the Lakers all time leading scorer, and the youngest player to reach 30,000 points. There's a lot more, but you get the idea. Kobe ended his career with 33,643 points, dished out 6,306 assists, and pulled down 7,047 rebounds. He once dropped 81 points on the Toronto Raptors. True story: I once got a high five from Kobe after a Lakers victory over the Denver Nuggets. Needing to finish our beers after the game, my friend and I wandered over to the Lakers tunnel. Noticing my Lakers Nick Van Exel jersey, he reached up and slapped me five. Coolest high five I've ever gotten! (Stats verified by Wikipedia.)

The Black Mamba! Definitely one of the most competitive players in the NBA.

@teamfreak16 that is why he never got along with other players who had a different work ethic than him.

@allen0187 - And in a way, he should've. The guy was intensely driven to win.

@Hatley - Oh wow, you met him? How cool! I've never met any Lakers. I've met a couple of Raiders and a few Colorado Avalanche players.

That is neat, I do like Kobe, always thought he was a bit selfish though. If he was a touch more like Jordan maybe the Lakers could have 6 or 7 championships. I am happy with the 5 he helped us win.

Kobe, Blue Oyster Cult vocalist and guitarist Eric Bloom, and St. Louis Cardinals mascot Fredbird at a Rockies game. Those are my memorable high five's.
