Little Out-of-Context Bible-Affirmations Annoy My Intelligence

A friend of mine shared this 'meme' In case it doesn't display here, it reads, "'for know that I have plans for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you & not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' (Jeremiah 29:11)" On the one hand, I'm glad that (I'm sure) most people take that as 'a prophet writing God's word to all humans' (though I suspect the prophet is actually writing to 'the nation of Israel'). On the other hand, the probable fact-of-the-matter is that 'God's plan' is HIS Glory, that--if you're 'living to serve Him'--THEN he has a plan for you. I just 'liked' the Facebook-post & 'bit my tongue' (didn't use my keyboard). Maybe next time somebody posts one of those memes, I'll comment, "... or not. Just Have Faith in God " Sound right?
