Most of you should remember this tune. “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” is a Motown classic written by the record label’s legendary writing team Holland-Dozier-Holland. The incomparable Four Tops with lead singer Levi Stubbs were a hitmaking machine at Motown and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and recipient of a Grammy lifetime achievement award. You cannot get any better than the Four Tops when it comes to r&b soul and rank on a par with the Miracles and Temptations. Motown’s house band the Funk Brothers played on this track. “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” was the group’s first #1 on Billboard.
THE FOUR TOPS - I CAN'T HELP MYSELF (SUGAR PIE, HONEY BUNCH) LIVE PARIS FRANCE 1967. GROUP MEMBERS ARE: LEVI STUBBS, ABDUL 'DUKE' FAKIR, RENALDO 'OBIE' BENSO...

I love, love, love Motown music! That is real rhythm and blues. What they call R&B nowadays is nothing like it. Back then you had to have real talent to make it--there was not auto-tune for bad vocals, no "sampling" for unimaginative and lazy writers. Motown had some truly genius-level musicians, writers and performers. I wish we had that quality of music and creativity today!

From as far back as I can remember I have been singing their Songs either one Song or the other or doing a mix of them too as I go around doing things around the House. The Four Tops will always be the Tops for me too.

My parents listened to all these songs, so I do remember some of them and there are a lot of movies made on groups. So I am familiar with this song, I do like it.
