How many steps do you take a day?

So I put on my tracker and I want to get in more steps every day but not even sure what is a good goal to aim for. I am curious what everyone else does that has them. What is the normal amount of steps one should be taking daily and what is the amount you should be taking if you want to lose weight? Just curious because I have no clue.

It is recommended that 10,000 steps in what you should aim for each day. I do at least that and I try to surpass it.

Generally i take about 6500-7000 steps(3-4 km) each day to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to keep my biological systems in order. :)

It seems that the average is something like 5000 - 7000 steps a day but you should aim for around 10,000. This should burn about 2000 to 3500 extra calories each week and should cause you to lose about 1 pound/half a kilo of body fat in a week, providing that you don't eat more to compensate, of course!

I have no idea how many steps I take on average per day. I read something about the 10,000 steps challenge, as mentioned in the other comments. Not sure how close or far I am from that number.

I've heard 10,000 a day for general fitness. Not sure if that will result in weight loss or not.
