this was taken on top of Church of St Mary the Great, in Cambridge... way back October 2016. luckily, it was sunny so i got a good shot of the view.
it was great when we were on top.. just looking around that beautiful view! it was an awesome experience! beautiful :)

I just uploaded it. The picture was taken in landscape. I didn't rotate the image or anything. It does show sideways in some pictures. Just weird.

It's a long time since I went up Great St Mary's tower! I don't think I'd manage it today but I remember very well looking down on the Market place and the views to the distant hills beyond the city and even as far as Ely Cathedral (on a very clear day). We have so few hills and high points in Cambridge that it is a real novelty to be able to climb Great St Mary's and the Castle mound to the north (and just out of your view, to the left).

@therealmaryyy We have so much to do and see here and so many beautiful buildings and open spaces that I sometimes feel sorry for those who can only spend a day here. The Fitzwilliam Museum alone is worth a day, at least! We only have (or had) one castle and all that's left of it is the mound on which the keep once stood but there are two (at least) worthwhile castles fairly nearby - Stansted Mountfitchet and Castle Hedingham - and a number of beautiful mansions (for example, Audley End and Wimpole Hall).

@owlwings I've been to Fitzwilliam Museum and it was just amazing!! I will upload a picture later... I don't think we've been nor passed by Stansted Mountfitchet and Castle Hedingham. We did go to this river: Chauffeur Punts.. we ate our lunches on the sides watching people paddle and almost fell in the water hehe

I'd like to visit more Castles, Churches, museums and Parks in Cambridge. We only went there for day; it was a day travel. We had a short time but we did enjoy walking around...
