Does you cat like olives?

I have one cat who loves olives. He will even steal them off my plate when I eat them. He gets all crazy, rolling around the floor and acting silly. I read online that olives contain compounds known as isoprenoids. They are similar to the active ingredient in catnip so that explains why he loves them so much. It is mostly in the pimentos of the olives but he seems to like all olives. So has your cat ever eaten olives?

My 2 scavengers eat steak, chicken, ham, and pork. I have never seen them attempt to eat olives. My old man who hangs out downstairs in the man cave with my husband does like to eat cheddar cheese popcorn, though. That is pretty strange.

That is cute.. 
My cat that eats olives also eats toast and butter, any type of meat. He wants to try everything we are eating but he never likes any cat food I buy. He is picky about his cat food. lol

I never had a cat that liked olives but I did have a cat that would go crazy for pizza. It got to a point where we had to give the cat her own slice.

one of my previous LOVED cooked black olives.only cooked ones..we called them his "bugs".

It seems counter-intuitive that a cat would like olives, but I'm not sure why. It's not like there's some logical reason for a cat to not like olives. I for one love olives, why would a cat think otherwise?

That's very interesting. We don't eat the olives, so we don't know whether here the cats like it or not. When we had a cat before, he just liked a certain fish from a certain market. Even if you bought the same type fish from another market, he would not eat it at all. That's so strange I think cats have a good sense of taste. Perhaps cats in different areas have different diet habits.

We don't have any olives at home and we eat olives only as a topping on pizza. So I haven't really introduced olives to my cat.
