That's what we called those trees. I now know their real name. They are called rain trees. We walked to school and this particular road was skirted with these trees. They had long black beans that fell off the tree. We would pick them up and enjoy them. They were sweeter than honey. But mother would not have it. She had given strict instructions that we should not eat them. She caught me one day. Those long beans had seeds that we discarded and by mistake some of them fell in my school bag. Mother spotted them there and I got a good you know what. What were you hiding from your parents while at school? More about the rain tree https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albizia_saman

I have never seen these. I wonder what they are? Perhaps someone will be able to tell us.

I have posted a link. May be you did not see it. It talks about this tree. Were you hiding anything too from your parents while at school?

@allknowing I never used to eat my lunch and had to remember to put it in the bin so Mum wouldn't know I wasn't eating it.

@JudyEv There I knew it. We all have had so many things to hide from our parents but all small sins. (lol)

I had to hide a change of clothing at school because if I showed up at school in the clothes my parents made me leave home in I would have been the subject of great ridicule. Fortunately I managed not to get caught. Looking back, I don't know how I did it.

Lucky you were not caught. Are you into fashion designing by any chance now? That could have been your choice may be - just a thought.

@allknowing Bizzare as it sounds, when I was small my mum dressed me in unimaginably ugly stuff. She was overprotective and thought this would discourage kidnappers.
