The Heebie Jeebie's as a child

I was watching a movie that I used to watch somewhat regularly as a child. Clue, a movie based on the board game and which has actors who were among my favorite growing up. I'll get to them in a minute. There is a scene within the movie where Tim Curry (oh how I love Tim Curry and his many facial expressions in this movie) reveals a hidden walkway within the home. He touches a painting and the painting swings open. There is a shadow that is cast and is the source of my fright as a child. No matter how many times I'd watch the movie, I'd always cringe up with this scene because I was afraid someone would attack poor Wadsworth (Tim Curry). I also couldn't watch the music video for "Thriller" by Michael Jackson because the zombies were quite a fright for me! There were times I could watch it and be okay, but for the most part it gave me quite the scare! *Christopher Lloyd played Professor Plum in the movie but was also Doc Brown in the Back To The Future Trilogy. *Martin Mull played as Colonel Mustard but was also on Sabrina as the principal of the school and Roseanne as something? I forget. Both of these were 90's shows. What were some things as a child that gave you the heebie jeebies?

The first time we saw Thriller in the UK was about 1AM in the early morning just as we had come back from a party. We sat down in amazement watching it. It certainly was memorable.

It is quite a theatrical piece! I think I was more frightened of Michael's make up than anything else!

@ScribbledAdNauseum The thing that used to terrify me as a child were the Daleks in Dr Who. They used to give me nightmares!

@garymarsh6 I've never watched the show, either the old version or the new. I just looked up an image of the dalek, and they definitely look like some sort of weaponry. I remember watching Star Wars as a child (with the older children) and not being a fan of C3PO, or even watching Transformers.

There's so much charm in "old movies". I don't consider one made in '85 as "old" though.

The Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz, I'd have to cover my eyes every time she was on the screen.

That was my mom's favorite movie! I can't think of any part that frightened me. I guess it's because it was on the television every time it was televised, sometimes three times in one day!

i lived in a spooky old farmhouse as a kid. so it didn't take much for me to get the Heebie Jeebies.

Yikes! All those creaks and I imagine a lot of dark corners of the room! I'd have hid under my covers the entirety of my childhood!

I don't think I've ever heard of the film Clue. Watching Doctor Who always scared me a little.

It was made in 1985. I remember it being on the t.v. a lot when I was a kid, but I've not heard of it being televised since. It may not have shown in the UK at all, I don't know.
