So is anybody going to have pie in honor of National Pie Day? What is your favorite kind of Pie? My most favorite is Lemon Meringue. The tangier the better. I also like Coconut Cream Pie and my mom use to make the best Banana Cream Pie. I have had many but none of them have been as good as hers were. Blueberry pie is also good. I am not a fan of Apple Pie though.

You would have loved mom's pies @Happy2BeMe she only used enough sugar to sweeten the sour stuff but when the fruit was already sweet she wouldn't add any sugar at all. Even the pie crusts she'd make weren't too sweet

I prefer a pie not too be too sweet too. Most have way too much sugar in them.

@Happy2BeMe I've checked the word 'pastry' in a dictionary and must admit that I don't understand why a cake doesn't belong to the pastry category as well.

Cake are spongy in nature and can be layered and covered with icing. A pie is a pasty that is filled with different fruit or fillings. I can also be filled with meat and vegetables. I guess the main difference it that a pie is a pastry and a cake isn't.

I don't like pumpkin either. Cherry is another favorite and Pecan pie is good too.

Like all kinds of Pies too. That one does look very yummy. I have not tasted a good pie for ages I must admit.

Used to love my Mom´s Meat Pie the alternative to eating Roast Beef when you were short of Cash.
I knew how to make some really good Cornish Pasties too. I am getting really hungry just thinking of them.

I am not a pie person, but I usually have then infrequently and the I can't remember which taste great. So, no favorites. Why do you have a 'national pie day'? What's that about?
