~Update On My Baby Situation~

The doctors now are changing my due date...Their saying now I'm 37 weeks and the baby is not head down now since he changed positions. My choices are a painful procedure called an ECV or having a C Section if the baby does not turn head down by my next appointment on February 1st. =( BUT I serve an amazing God who can turn this all around and change the baby's position. So I need a lot of prayers right now that God will do just that if it's His will! If the baby is not head down by the 1st of February Johnny and I have to make the decision of the ECV procedure or the c section. Not an easy choice either way... Please keep us in your prayers that Josiah turns head down this week! Please. =( I'm sorry I haven't been here much but this has been taking up my time and my thoughts...

Of course this has been pre-occupying you. It's good of you to find time to keep us informed. Good luck.

I pray in the Mighty Name of Jesus that your baby will turn downward in the next week! I will say that if he has not, I would have a C Section (just my opinion).

@Leapea2417 Thank you very much. If he doesn't turn I will be getting the c-section-I cannot go through that procedure.

@LovingMyBabies I understand that. How long will they wait to see if he is turned? If he hasn't, what date would they do a C Section?

My sister and friends have had C-sections and would make that decision again in a heartbeat. In any case, I hope he turns into the right position for you.

@NJChicaa I have heard both ways. Some people have said c-section is better and others have said it was the worst pain in their life. =( Thank you I hope so too.

@NJChicaa I really don't know what my pain tolerance is. I had 4 babies naturally but that's a different kind of pain than a soreness. When I have a toothache I am a big baby and with needles I'm a baby so I'm not sure.

@LovingMyBabies I think only people with a very low tolerance for pain would say that.

It is understandable that this would be taking up your time god will make everything ok and hopefully by your next appointment he has turned and you will not need a c-section or this procedure done.

It seems really strange to me that they're changing your due date so late in the pregnancy. What I've been told is that the earlier dating scans are much more accurate than later ultrasounds. They tried to adjust my due date about halfway through my last pregnancy, but I absolutely knew my dates and after discussing it with the practice's midwife she agreed that we would go by the date given when I was around 5-6 weeks. Of course the little stinker tried to come two weeks earlier than that, right before Christmas! Anyway, I'll definitely be sending good thoughts your way. I know it sounds like your options are scary, but please try to relax and not stress out about it too much. Speaking from personal experience, a scheduled C-section is much less stressful than an emergency one. What I would suggest doing is writing down any and all questions you have about both procedures, then ask your doctor at your next appointment if Josiah hasn't turned by then. I would also ask about waiting a bit longer, since they will sometimes let you go beyond your due date. Just remember that God can turn things around and change baby's position... but perhaps He knows something that we don't. I read a story not too long ago on Babycenter from a poster whose baby's cord was extremely long and had wrapped around his neck a few times. They had no idea until they did the C-section. It might seem like an awful possibility, but perhaps it's a blessing in disguise.

@yukimori They thought because I was so small the whole pregnancy that he wasn't due until a later date. Now, I think their starting to realize he is just a small baby-which is what I always have! They just didn't listen to me at all when I told them that. I wrote a list of the pro's and con's, & my questions this morning for when I go on Wednesday. The cons outweigh the pros of the procedure by a long shot! Yes I know God can turn Josiah around and He will do what's best. I am trying to just remember that and trust Him.

Our second child was born C-section, and honestly, it was a much easier birth and recovery. You have to do what your heart tells you, and maybe he'll turn on his own one day before he's born.

@Juliaacv Thank you for telling me that. Some people have really scared me into thinking it was a big nightmare. =( I am praying he will turn before the appointment.

@LovingMyBabies Seriously, if I had a choice, I'd take the C-section, healing is easier and there is no labour!!!

There are natural ways to try to get a baby to turn. Look them up before you decide on a cesction or the ECV.

This souonds absurd, but if you lved next door, I'd play some really melodic guitar music to your feet, and try to lure your baby into repositioning for a better listen.
