Courage to speak one's mind

Do you have the courage to always express yourself and always say your opinion? I find that most of the time I am quite honest and give my opinions even if I know they are controversial or strange. However I think it's very hard to avoid getting into arguments on the internet if you express any opinion. People get offended at absolutely everything nowadays and it becomes hard to communicate. I think there are large groups whose official purpose is to get offended all day every day!

My friends consider me "diplomatic", I like to give my honest opinion, but I usually understand when it's better to keep the mouth shut. You are right there are too many that get offended for nothing.

Exactly, especially if you are just commenting things on the Internet people need to relax

I don't always say what I think, but when I do I'm honest and I don't have any problem doing so. Maybe that's because I often see no threat in knowing someone disagrees. How lucky I am. As long as I get some reaction, I'm happy, I think. Social Justice Warriors? That's an endless facepalm with them.

@tzwrites It's okay to talk with oneself. I often do that. And here you can also earn money. - I believe this and that. - I don't. *Monkey Poop* - Because of this and that. - *Monkey Poop* - You also have to keep in mind this and that. - *Monkey Poop*

It's good to speak your mind but with those people there is no discussion.

I am trying to be selective. When the person in front of me doesn't want to hear another opinion, I won't say it. Especially if it's not a very serious matter. Nowadays, I express my opinion when I think that they may be valuable to the conversation or to someone else. People who get offended don't really want to hear and they won't use it for improvement. Even if the opinion is wrong, it can still be a beginning of a great discussion when everyone is willing.

I agree, I am also selective because I am aware most people don't want to hear anything.

@tzwrites They don't, it's true. Some people are very focused on how right they are and they try to show it to everyone else without listening.

I speak my mind but am learning that in today's world you get your head ripped off for doing so.

True, sometimes I think it's better to keep your mouth shut or else risk getting "attacked"

If asked, I give my opinion. Otherwise, I keep my mouth shut. People online take things the wrong way and are overly sensitive or lack a sense of humor. Some are just plain boring and stupid, so it's difficult to give any opinion.

Me I keep a low profile in saying anything important unless I see the need to say something. I have had to have the courage to say things a few times and it was not well liked because it was the truth and it still is the truth. But apart from that I keep my mouth shut too.

It is true that people seem to get offended if they don't agree with what we think. We are all so careful, as if we don't have a right to have our thoughts.

I always give my opinion when asked . . However, whenever my wife asks my opinion like what I think of her new hairdo, I always ask her first what she thinks about it . . and what she thinks is also what I decide as what I think! I always play safe as far as my wife is concerned. . .

I agree with you. Being sort of anonymous on the internet seems to give people licence to be rude and unpleasant. I mostly keep my opinions to myself in those sorts of situations but I'm not on FB so it doesn't happen often to me.

Maybe it's good that you aren't on FB. That's where some irritating stuff happens

I know what you mean. Just saying "Doing the dirty deed" as a joke offends some special interest groups. I always tell them "Go jump into Gatun Lake if I bothered you."

I have learned to speak out my opinion when I started living in Germany. But speaking out my honest opinion when living in the Philippines is usually a no go as my countrymen usually take it personally and get offended. So I have learned when to shot up and just say what that person want to hear from me which is not honest at all.

Yes, it's true, people are easily offended these days, don't know why
