Trying a new fruit: KIWI BERRIES (Actinidia Arguta - Hardy Kiwi - Baies de Kiwi)

United States
February 16, 2017 1:57am CST
While grocery shopping - I stumbled upon these KIWI BERRIES also known as Actinidia Arguta - Hardy Kiwi - Baies de Kiwi and I have never seen them before!! My boyfriend and I neither heard or tried them, so we had to buy it plus they were on sale. Even on sale, they were pretty expensive for just a few literally 12 pieces for $2.50 and they're the size of two grapes about! I researched and this fruit has a lot of benefits especially Vitamin C & they're tasty sweet, crunchy! Some benefits of KIWI BERRIES: - High level of antioxidants, vitamin C, rich source of vitamin E, folic acid, fiber, potassium and chromium, and so forth. Have you ever tried this fruit? (Photo belongs to me!)

And now I want kiwi's. I've never seen kiwi berries but the picture makes them look just like kiwi's only a tiny bit smaller. Did they have a different taste than a kiwi does?

No fuzz on this fruit :) They taste different, not as sweet as a regular kiwi!

@infatuatedbby Yeah I did notice the lack of fuzz. I guess they didn't let the fruit mature into a proper kiwi.

My second favourite fruit is kiwi. I knew that kiwi is a powerful antioxidant and one of the richest sources of vitamin C

I have tried those small kiwi berries, but I still prefer the real kiwi, especially those coming from New Zealand, they are the best.

Aren't these GOOD ? I saw them at Sprouts like a few months back (?) as I was curious. My little son loves the regular kiwis . . . so I bought them. When you bite them they do look like mini kiwis on the inside!! My son ended up not liking them, but I sure did. I didn't realize they were so healthy! I haven't seen them in the store since though .

I think there's kiwi fruit in grocery store in our city, but the color is brown, not green as you shown in your photo.
• United States
