My tongue was on fire from a food sample!

February 18, 2017 8:00pm CST
While in line to order some havarti cheese in the deli section, I asked my boyfriend if he could go get me a sample. It was noon and we hadn't ate yet since we were running errands in the morning. From where I was standing the sample looked to be some sort of cheese spread that you had to spread on crackers yourself. He smothered a good amount of the cheese spread and I just 'assumed' it was cheese and chives and crackers. As I put the entire thing in my mouth since he feed me...... it was good then my tongue was on fire! It was a spicy spread! I asked him what the spread was and he didn't even check! He thought I knew. My tongue was burning and the guy cutting havarti cheese chuckled a little.

I only like spicy noodles sometimes or beef jerky once in a while. But but, I would be prepared with a beverage. :)

@infatuatedbby It's the thought that counts. Were you able to get something to dispel the heat?

I chuckled reading your post. Its free and sounds like once you can get a drink it will be great. I would need the drink first, as I don't eat spicy food.

Do you mean the havarti Danish cheese? I know it comes in several varieties, there is havarty with jalapeƱos and with red pepper, you surely had one of the two.

One of my clients loves anything that is super spicy hot. I bought her habanero cheese and she loved it. Just so I could say I tried it, I sampled a small piece of it. Yeah, I regretted that one!

Being a Hispanic, I like hot and spicy foods but I need to talk it easy. After a while, it can damage your stomach. Maybe that cheese you ate might have had some jalapenos.

I think it had jalapeƱos or some sort of spice! :) Yes, Hispanic enjoys spicy. So does some Asian cultures, but not myself. I cant handle it!
