I bought $14 worth of ground beef today with the plans of making homemade meatballs and sauce tomorrow. I've got all of the ingredients to make the meatballs. Guess what I just realized I don't have?
I don't have any crushed tomatoes or fresh basil. Oops. That is a total shopping fail on my part. Guess I'm going back to the store tomorrow morning.

I do save some shopping coupons or go online and check what's on bargain and list it down as my memory fails me.

@vickyrose I don't do well with coupons as they are mostly for processed foods and I make pretty much everything from scratch

That is why, it is best to have a grocery list handy so we don't forget things!

Yes, a grocery list saves a lot of time. I need blinkers though when I shop as I tend to linger and buy other things and forget what I needed to buy.

I hate when that happens. I was going to make meatloaf the other day and realized I forgot to buy eggs. I didn't feel !ike going back to the store so we had burgers

I always have a tomato paste, it's an essential and I have planted basil as I use it all the time. I can relate and have done similar. It's good that the supermarket is a 4 minute drive, but it's a waste of my time so I learnt quickly to write up a shopping list if I will get more than 3 items.
