Opps! I accidentally FaceTime call my boyfriend at 4 AM!

United States
February 20, 2017 11:14am CST
Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and just look at my phones notifications. Then I'd go back to sleep, but for some strange reason - I must have been falling back asleep and somehow touched the FaceTime button for my boyfriend. He was not a happy camper Have you accidentally ever called anyone in the middle of the night? Did they pick up?

I do not even keep the phone in the bedroom during the night, this is an accident that cannot happen to me.

Do you have a house phone in your bedroom encase of an emergency?

@LadyDuck Ok, that would be better. I always have this scary 'what if' feelings even though the home is very secure!

@infatuatedbby The landline phone is in the office room in front of our bedroom, we also keep the cellphones there, it's not too far and both rooms are upstairs.

My girlfriend does that all the time! She'll wake up in the middle of the night to check her notifications, and then she'll sometimes respond to text messages or Facebook comments or whatever. And then she'll go back to sleep. It's funny, because half the time she doesn't even remember doing it.

@moffittjc Hahah! That is funny. :) I sometimes do not realize what I am doing at times. I've slept walked ONCE in my life and attempted to leave my room instead I hit the wall and fell then woke up.

@infatuatedbby No, I never check my phone until I wake up the next morning. It's funny though, sometimes my gf will text me in the middle of the night, even though I'm laying in bed right next to her. Then, in the morning when I tell her about it, she does not even remember doing it! lol

I should be extra cautious! Luckily it was my boyfriend and not someone else! I don't think others would be too happy either.

I keep my phone away from me at night . . . it stays in the livingroom. If I did call someone that late by accident, that would mean I am a sleepwalker too (thank goodness I'm not!)

I can imagine it wouldn't be nice to be waken up in the middle of the night, especially he still needs to wake up early and go to work the next morning. I haven't do that before, but I remember my eldest son did that when he was very young. He played with my cell phone and called someone. I didn't know about that until I received the return call the next morning. He made a call to my cousin, which I think it's because it's the first in the list. He didn't pick up the call as he also suspected it's because of my son, as it was not the first time calling him accidentally, though first time in the midnight. I made an empty phone number at the top of the list since then, so he wouldn't be able to call to anyone accidentally.

I too have this habit to wake up in middle of night and look at notifications.Usually I look for my boyfriend's messages and by mistake I call him only and now he has become habitual of my " by-mistake night calls",he feels nice and recognizes it as a gesture of my love and concern for him.
