What To Do When You Turn 50 Today?

I hate even thinking about it. I am a half century old today.
I don't have a lot planned. I took the day off from work.
I DO plan on going out to eat. but still not 100% sure where.
Maybe I should take myself to the movies.
Anyone have any ideas? How should one celebrate becoming ancient?

Celebrate it with friends and family. I would suggest to go to movies too... But it isn't celebrate that way. Living that long should be thankful to God and enjoy it with people you love.

That was a lot of years ago. I'm a senior, so am using that as an excuse. Hope it was a great birthday.

@Fishmomma That is what I have heard. I haven't signed up yet.. I should go do that.
Aging is natural and every one must accept the fact. But once you, yourself reach there you understand that 50 is not that much aged

i got til 2019..people tell me i should do something,but i have no idea what.
maybe i'll rent a room somewhere for a day so i can have peace and quiet.
..on second thought,that wouldn't work.they'd probably destroy the house while i was gone.

Why, Thank you!.. and yes. it was quite good.. it lasted a few days actually.. I had dinner with my brother and my 2 roommates and best friends... on my actually birthday. then on the weekend my step father and brother (and his girlfriend took me out to eat again for lunch.. and I had leftovers so I got to enjoy more birthday meals for a couple days!! :)

You are just getting into your best ever 10 years, I loved my 50's, life was good and now much older I wish i was 50 again... Be grateful you are alive, healthy and have a job, a lot of people can't say that. Happy Birthday!

well, i am ancient too, but i believe we 'ancients' are seasoned in our own right. i am listening to the television series that i always watch. i drive the car, and if there is a good movie, i watch it on TV. in that case too, let us enjoy our time being 'ancient yet active and beautiful'.

I with JJ at the one..I was sitting here thinking about it and I can't remember what I did when I turned 50. My mind is blank!! lol Going out to eat and the movies sounds like a great idea. You aren't old. You still have lots of good years in ya get!! Go out have fun and enjoy!! Welcome to the 50s club!! Happy birthday!
